Station-Based Learning
An ordinary room becomes a colourful learning space. Each Learning Lab focuses on one area, such as literacy or numeracy, with stations built around key foundational skills supported by mats, games, and digital activities.

Stations are built around a structured foundational learning progression, with children working across stations and activities at their own level and pace as their skills develop.
Hands-on Meets Digital
Physical mats, games, and cards support learning at every station, while digital apps on the tablet reinforce the same skills and content. Everything works offline, with no internet needed.
What is a Learning Lab?
A Learning Lab is a dedicated room inside a school or community space, designed as an innovative learning environment with progressive stations. Each station combines educational apps on a tablet with hands-on games and activities. Every element is carefully designed so children are mastering learning.
There are no traditional teachers in a Learning Lab. A trained facilitator guides learners through the stations, helping them explore and discover at their own pace. Our labs can be set up in schools, community organizations and other learning spaces. Foundational Literacy and Numeracy are our most widely used Learning Labs, with Logic built in throughout. Leap also offers Learning Labs and content in areas such as Science, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship.
The Learning Ladder
Every station has its own colour, helping learners recognise the foundational skill it represents across the mat, banner, and app. Within each station, activities build from simpler to more complex skills as learners progress at their own level and pace.

The Room Becomes a Learning Arena
Colour-coded mats, banners, games and station cards turn an ordinary room into a space that sparks curiosity. Every station is fully equipped with hands-on games and its matching skill based apps.
Children Move Through the Stations
Students rotate between stations, combining physical play with app-based practice. They learn because they want to, and with each skill they master, their desire to learn grows stronger.
A Facilitator Guides, Not Lectures
A trained facilitator helps students use the materials, answers questions, and keeps the energy going. Every child progresses at their own level.
Progress is Visible
App data shows how learners are progressing through activities and skills, helping learners, teachers, and parents understand where they are and what support may be needed next.

One small room
One lab type, Literacy or Numeracy, with Logic. The most compact setup.
One good-sized room
Both Literacy and Numeracy together, sharing one Logic station.
Two rooms
Literacy in one room, Numeracy in the other. Each gets its own Logic station.
What You Need to Set it Up
Setting up a Learning Lab is straightforward. Here is what goes into it.
A Room
A room or space where the stations fit comfortably. It does not need to be large. The lab adapts to whatever space is available.
Printed Materials
For each station: colour-coded mats, banners, station cards, and hands-on games. All designed to work together, with colours helping learners recognize connections and reinforce the learning across activities.
Tablets
Running the Leap Universal App, 10 tablets is recommended for the best Learning Lab experience, but the setup is flexible — even a single tablet can be used when needed.
A Dedicated Facilitator
Adults take on a different role in the Learning Lab as facilitators. Trained in the Leap methodology, a facilitator guides students through the stations, keeps the energy going, and makes sure every child has a positive learning outcome. Full training and support materials are provided by Leap.

The partner sets up the lab, trains the facilitator, and handles follow-up support. Leap supports the partner throughout—helping troubleshoot challenges, strengthen implementation, and keep the methodology working well in practice.

Built to Fit Your Budget
We work with each organisation to find a setup that fits its context and budget. The overall cost depends on the Learning Lab setup, number of tablets, materials, and app collections chosen.
An Investment that Lasts
The upfront cost includes durable hands-on materials, games, and Learning Lab resources designed to be used year after year, making the investment valuable well beyond the first year.
A Sustainable Programme
After setup, yearly costs are limited to app licensing and follow-up support, based on the number of Labs and app collections used. These remain minimal while supporting new apps, learning content, and updates.
Good to Know
- Designed for pre-primary learners through Class 5, covering foundational literacy, numeracy, logic, and more.
- The app works fully offline. Once installed, no internet connection is needed during sessions.
- At-home use has a free daily limit (for example, 10 minutes a day). Extra time is chargeable.
